Master Bill Porter

Introducing Master Bill Porter, a martial artist whose journey began in 1995 at the age of 5. It all began with a remarkable martial arts class led by the legendary actor/martial artist Jason David Frank, known as Tommy the Original Green Power Ranger. From that moment Mr. Porter was inspired to embark on a lifelong journey, becoming not only a dedicated practitioner but also a respected instructor known for his modesty and compassion.

In addition to martial arts, he competed in gymnastics, taught archery, enjoyed the thrill of riding dirt bikes, and had the privilege of studying fitness and wrestling under the guidance of his father, Bill Porter Senior, a renowned wrestling coach in the Chicago land area.

Mr. Porter began his journey with Lions Martial Arts Academy in 2010 as a student, but his dedication and passion quickly led him to assume the role of content and social media coordinator. In 2012, he expanded his involvement by becoming an instructor, leading kids and adult classes in Tae Kwon Do, Eskrima, and Hyper Pro Training. Notably, Mr. Porter played a pivotal role in leading our demo team during a multitude of cultural events, at local schools, celebrations, parades, and various engagements across the country.

Under the guidance of Lions Martial Arts Academy, Mr. Porter earned a 4th-degree black belt from Kukkiwon (World Taekwondo Headquarters) and another from Lions Martial Arts Academy, recognized for its combination of Tae Kwon Do, Tang Soo Do, Karate, Hapkido, and overall self-defense. In addition to these accomplishments, Mr. Porter holds a black sash in Kampilan Eskrima, an art of self-defense and stick fighting from the Philippines and has also reached the rank of 4th kyu in Aikido through Lake County Aikikai.

Mr. Porter's achievements in martial arts also include competing in various tournaments, including regional, national, and even world-level competitions. Notable accomplishments include winning a gold medal in forms at the 2011 Taekwondo All American Challenge and becoming a 3-time world champion stick fighter in 2012 through the Global Stick and Blade Alliance (GSBA).

In 2014, thanks to his exceptional martial arts skills, Mr. Porter had the incredible opportunity to audition to become a Power Ranger, which was a dream come true. His talent took him through three producer callbacks, creating a profoundly memorable experience.

Outside of martial arts training, Master Bill Porter has developed a strong work ethic and leadership skills that reflect his dedication to excellence in all aspects of life. He follows the principles of Taekwondo, including Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self-Control, and Indomitable Spirit, which guide his interactions with others, promoting respect and kindness in his daily life.

Mr. Porter sees martial arts as a foundation for happiness and overall well-being. His commitment to helping students grow and positively impact others is evident in his humble and dedicated approach, embodying martial arts as a way of life.

Although he now resides in Orlando, FL, Mr. Porter remains an integral part of Lions Martial Arts Academy. He continues to serve as the content and social media coordinator and occasionally teaches virtual classes. Currently, he is actively involved in teaching and promoting the Lions Legacy in the Orlando Area.
